THE WATERS AND THE FISH
The many lakes and rivers that dot the landscape between and around Spooner and Hayward Wisconsin have a long tradition of providing some of the best fresh water fishing available anywhere. The lakes that we fish range in size from small natural lakes that are less than 100 acres in size, to mid sized 500 to 1000 acre lakes and reservoirs up to large 5000 to 15000 acre lakes. The diversity amongst these waters is truly incredible. Some of these lakes are known as excellent Musky lakes, routinely putting out good numbers of fish between 36" to 50" in length. While other lakes are fantastic for Smallmouth and/or Largemouth Bass. Many, many Smallmouth in the 18" to 22" range are caught and released each season. And the Largemouth Bass seem to be getting more numerous and bigger every year. Lots of these lakes have high numbers of hard fighting Northern Pike to catch also. Walleye fishing on select area lakes often provide good angling opportunities for these tasty eaters as well. Cashing in on peak seasonal periods is often key to successful Walleye fishing. The Spooner and Hayward areas also sport some great panfishing waters. Crappie, Perch, and Blugill are abundant here. So, for whatever fishing opportunity your looking for let Jim Stroede be your guide to an enjoyable day of great fishing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
ABOUT YOUR GUIDE
Jim Stroede has been fishing for all of his 41 years. He and his family make their home in rural Washburn County where for the past seven years he has guided guests to some beautiful catches of Musky, Walleye, Bass, Pike and Panfish. Musky fishing is his real passion and every season some truly impressive fish make their way into Jim's net. To conserve the resource, all Musky are carefully returned to the water to grow bigger and fight another day. With all other fish species selective harvest is practiced, allowing the taking of some of the more plentiful fish for eating while releasing the less numerous and ideal spawning sized fish to insure great fishing in the future. Jim is a member of the Hayward Guide Service and is also on the pro staff for a number of select tackle companies. You'll find that spending a day in the boat with Jim to be a fun, enjoyable fishing experience.
